Annual content and financial report of the Institute for 2025
Key achievements and impact
Increased capacity and capability of NGOs to operate in the field of sustainable mobility as a key area for addressing climate change through the preparation of an overview of key content and advocacy opportunities in this area and the implementation of training.
Increased public participation in open consultations on key strategic documents in the field of climate change – preparation of comments on the draft Climate Fund program and the Social Climate Plan.
Start of regular monthly Climate Cafés to connect people into a climate community and regular annual Jane’s Walk – urban walks in Kodeljevo for local shifts towards more sustainable mobility.
Influence on decision-makers of the City of Ljubljana through the high-profile project Slowly getting better and petition, which collected an exceptionally large number of signatures in a short period of two months.
Co-creation of project activities with local partners and networking with networks of environmental organizations – PlanB for Slovenia, Mreža za prostor and Coalition for Sustainable Transport Policy.
Strengthening the visibility of the Institute through an established profile on social networks (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) and appearances in the media (radio interview with the Editor of Radio Trieste, Pavel Volk on 5. 11. 2025).
The year 2025 was a period of intensive activities, events and collaborations for the Climate Solutions Institute, which contributed to raising awareness and developing climate solutions in the local and wider environment. The Institute remains committed to its mission and actively builds bridges between knowledge, practice and community to strengthen the implementation of climate solutions.

Education and training
In 2025, the Institute conducted the following training:
- Training for sustainable mobility advocacy (Climate Program of the Coalition for Sustainable Transport Policy Network, KTPP, point 2.1) based on the Agreement on Cooperation in the Implementation of the Climate Program of the Coalition for Sustainable Transport Policy – Content Network of NGOs in the Field of Sustainable Mobility No. 3/2025, including the preparation of the stakeholder map document (Mapping of stakeholders and levers of power by key legislative proposals and processes) and the physical implementation of the training on 22. 10. 2025 live at the Environmental Center in Ljubljana for KTPP members.
Consulting and research
In 2025, the Institute carried out the following consultancy:
- Support in the preparation of the accompanying library for the expert excursion to East and South Tyrol, 10-11 June 2025, including a presentation of the areas (modal split of transport, resources and literature) and a presentation of good practices in the field of sustainable mobility.

Advocacy and awareness raising
In 2025, the Institute participated in campaigns and contributed to discussions on climate policies within the framework of networks of environmental NGOs. We provided comments on the following documents in public consultation:
- Decree on the Program for the Use of Climate Change Fund Funds for 2025-2028 (comments submitted within the framework of the PlanB Network for Slovenia and individually, July 2025) and
- Draft Social Climate Plan (contribution to comments submitted within the framework of the PlanB Network for Slovenia and separately as an institute, November 2025).
We also participated in other campaigns and contributed to discussions on climate policies and proposed improvements to measures at the local and national levels.
Event and community organization
In 2025, we held the following events and community engagements:
- Jane’s Walk — an urban walk through Kodeljevo (25. 5. 2025) brought together the residents of Kodeljevo and enabled discussions on sustainable mobility solutions in the local community. The participants of the walk made suggestions, and the Institute collected and organized them into 14 points and then communicated with representatives of the Moste Neighborhood Community. We were very successful in advocating for improvements to traffic management (two improvements have already been implemented, and more are planned).
- The Institute established contact with the international community, which is the initiator of the Climate Cafe® (https://www.climate.cafe), and obtained permission to use the logo for the organization of the Climate Cafes in Ljubljana. We connected with colleagues from the City Administration of Ljubljana (Environmental Protection Department), who allowed us to use the Mission 100 Info Point space for meetings free of charge and help with event promotion. The meetings began in early 2026 as regular monthly meetings and as a space for open discussion and networking of all those who work or want to work in the field of climate change.
The project Slowly getting better
SLOWLY GETTING BETTER: the campaign for a city tailored to people included activities carried out from August to November 2025 in cooperation with the Ljubljana Cycling Network and the Ljubljana Cycling Mayor (a title symbolically awarded by a Dutch NGO with the aim of promoting cycling in cities around the world), Matej Praprotnik, who is committed to regulating traffic tailored to people in Črnuče, Ljubljana. Advocacy activities and a communication awareness campaign focused on improving the conditions for active mobility (cycling, walking) in the Črnuče Municipal District for all population groups, which included traffic calming and maintaining or reducing speed. The communication awareness campaign on the Internet, other media and also in the field took place from the beginning to the end of the campaign, the activities included events during the European Mobility Week 2025, when most of the main field activities took place.
